Boneless Wing Bing Bang Bam
The tenant roster is rounding out for the renovation at Mission Valley, the 31-year-old shopping center at Avent Ferry Road and Western Boulevard in Raleigh.
York Properties is adding a Kroger grocery and a building that will house Blockbuster on the 5,000-square-foot top floor. Two restaurants are in negotiations to occupy the remaining 1,500-square-foot spaces.
Carvel, the ice cream company, is one. And Ba-Da Wings is the other. Ba-Da Wings has made a name for itself in Georgia, where the restaurant offers 25 flavors of boneless -- yes, boneless! -- chicken wings.
Ba-Da's Buffalo wings range in spiciness from plain (Ba-Da Nada) on up: Ba-Da (mild), Ba-Da Bing (medium), Ba-Da Bang, Boom and Bam, etc. Other flavors, such as Carolina BBQ and Jamaican Jerk, would likely satisfy growling stomachs of nearby N.C. State University students.
Construction on the additions is expected to start by January. Word is, Ba-Da Wings also is planning to open a restaurant on Airport Road in Chapel Hill.
